AngioSys - Angiogenesis Image Analysis Software

A fibrin antibody binding to fibronectin induces potent inhibition of angiogenesis.

El-Ayoubi, Fida, et al.

Thromb Haemost

Inhibiting tumour angiogenesis remains a promising strategy for the treatment of cancer. Only limited clinical success has been achieved, with most anti-angiogenic drugs evaluated against anti-angiogeneic growth factors such as VEGF and FGF, few effective alternative anti-angiogenic targets have been identified. Demonstration that fibrin fragment E (FFE) antibody induced significant growth inhibition of a human cancer xenograft in mice and suppression of tumour angiogenesis. Tubule formation of HUVEC on Matrigel was also significantly inhibited, with the number of tubules, tubule length and number of junctions calculated using AngioSys image analysis software.

Potential and limitations of microscopy and Raman spectroscopy for live-cell analysis of 3D cell cultures.

Charwat, Verena, et al.

Journal of biotechnology(2015).

Development of new analytical methods of investigating 3D cell culture formats are required as most available were designed for 2D cell cultures. This paper is a discussion on the current challenges of analysing living 3D samples and highlights the potential and challenges of two analytical methods that are capable of non-invasive monitoring of live cell cultures, allowing insights into dynamic cell population behaviour.
