V2a Kits - Vasculogenesis to Angiogenesis

Cellworks provide two validated, ready to use, human co-cultured in-vitro angiogenesis assay kits. The kits are suitable for testing novel samples eg small molecules, antibodies etc, for pro or anti angiogenic activity and can also be used for target validation and exploratory studies.

The GFP V2a Kit™ - Vasculogenesis to Angiogenesis, is a validated, in vitro, human primary cell co-culture model of angiogenesis that allows the dynamic measurement of all phases of the angiogenic process. It is a kinetic, quantitative, 24 well co-culture angiogenesis model, utilising lentivirally infected human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) expressing GFP co-cultured with normal human dermal fibroblasts (HDF).

The original V2a Kit™ - Vasculogenesis to Angiogenesis, is a validated in vitro, human primary cell co-culture model of angiogenesis. Tubule formation is visualised by end point staining.

  • Both kits allow the testing of added compounds, media or tissue explants, in a 24 well format, at any time from the onset of vasculogenesis through to advanced angiogenesis.
  • Tubules formed using either kit contain a lumen and resemble the morphology and range of capillary lengths found in microvascular beds in vivo.

Angiogenesis Tested Cells and Media for Bespoke Assay Design

Cellworks provide angiogenesis tested cells and media for maximum assay flexibility. Both GFP human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) and normal HUVEC are available, allowing dynamic measurements of angiogenesis to be taken or end point staining.

Bespoke assays allow the user to have complete control over the number and cell types present in the angiogenesis assay and the opportunity to manipulate cells prior to culturing if necessary.
